Ken Saunders Gallery is proud to present its newest endeavor: Neon and Light Museum

Opening September 9, 2021, the Neon and Light Museum’s pop-up location in the River North Neighborhood will not disappoint! The selection of artists featured are part of a new wave that is transforming neon and light in exciting and unexpected ways.

Neon defined a retro era when the automobile was broadening Americans’ horizons and the highways and boulevards of America’s cities were filled with bright and often flashing illuminated messages: snappy, happy, hopeful, warm and fuzzy come-ons to a better future. With epically colorful vibes, this immersive exhibition features breathtaking sculptures and interactive light shows both kitschy and nostalgic, ironic and literal. Quite simply: It’s lit!

Highlights include John Bannon’s Breathe, a 14-foot-tall perspective-based neon sculpture whereby when seen from the west, an image of a mature woman smelling a rose appears, while the view from the north reveals an image of a young girl blowing the seeds of a dandelion; Jason Pickleman’s pop-art line works; feminist neon artist Zoelle Nagib; internationally renowned British artist Sarah Blood; and neon master bender Jacob Fishman.
