Carmen Lozar

Lozar has been known for elegantly flameworked figures set in tableaus that are at once macabre and darkly humorous. In rent work the comic relief has given way to gravitas. The work now addresses big life issues; the kids growing up and, of course, oblivion. There is sadness and then there is redemption, the fallen tree germinating, protecting and nursing.
